Product Summary

Folic acid is an important B vitamin needed in the formation of red blood cells. It is involved in protein metabolism and is used in the prevention and treatment of folic acid anemia. Folic acid is very important in the first 3 months of pregnancy and is recommended to be taken well before conception if possible. It is important for cell reproduction, helps fetal development and the prevention of neural tube defects such as spina bifida and anencephaly.  Folic acid is also useful for cardiovascular health along with vitamin B6 and vitamin B12 and for the maintenance of the nervous system.  Oral contraceptives and alcohol may increase the need for folic acid supplementation.
 
CAUTIONS / WARNINGS:

  • Folic Acid supplementation can mask a Vitamin B12 deficiency. Consult a physician if you are unsure whether or not you have an adequate vitamin B12 intake.
  • Keep out of reach of children

Suggested Usage:

One tablet daily or as recommended by a physician.
